Job description
The Network Operations team at Amazon is seeking motivated individuals to support the global network infrastructure and ensure its stability and sustainability. This role involves managing and improving the AWS datacenter core networks while leveraging the latest technologies. The team is responsible for capacity planning, operational excellence, and change management to meet customer demands. Collaboration with internal and external partners is essential for successful delivery of features and products.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols
- 3+ years of experience in automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl
- CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CCNP Security or CCSP certification, or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Industry standard certification such as CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+
Responsibilities
- Manage and improve the AWS datacenter core networks to optimize performance
- Perform network capacity planning to ensure redundancy and long-term availability
- Provide first response to monitoring system alarms and stabilize network impact
- Troubleshoot routing and interconnectivity problems, including hardware failures
- Collaborate with internal teams to diagnose and resolve network issues
- Work with external vendors and ISPs to facilitate problem diagnosis and resolution
- Focus on customer needs in all change scenarios and execute changes safely
- Identify automation opportunities in troubleshooting and administration tasks
- Create and review documentation for processes and troubleshooting best practices
