The Electrical System Development Engineer will play a critical role in developing advanced robotics, automation, and material handling systems for Amazon. This hands-on position involves end-to-end electrical system design, from initial concept to deployment. The engineer will work closely with a small team to ensure systems are safe, reliable, and efficient. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and practical problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience designing and developing complex systems for automation, robotics, or material handling.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Experience developing electrical schematics or system architecture diagrams.
- Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Define system requirements, interfaces, and acceptance criteria based on customer needs.
- Design electrical system architectures that integrate power distribution and controls.
- Translate architectures into modular designs for easier deployment and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain system schematics in EPLAN and manage engineering changes.
- Perform power-system analysis and sizing, including load calculations and fault current analysis.
- Develop electrical system models and integrate them with system-level simulations.
- Define system performance metrics and analyze data to validate designs.
- Automate electrical system design processes, including schematic generation.
- Plan and execute verification and integration testing for electrical systems.
- Support builds, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
