Job description
The Quality and Reliability Engineer (QRE) role at Intel involves working within the Foundry Quality, Reliability, and Labs team to enhance semiconductor manufacturing processes. This position requires collaboration with various internal and external partners to manage quality issues and drive improvements in reliability performance. The role is based in Oregon and includes evening meetings as part of the work schedule. Key responsibilities include managing customer quality issues and leading investigations to ensure product reliability.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline plus 3 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, semiconductor fabrication, and quality assessment methodologies.
- Familiarity with excursion management, reliability fundamentals, or problem-solving techniques.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis techniques and tools, such as JMP or Minitab.
Responsibilities
- Manage customer quality issues on products.
- Extract and analyze data to support risk assessment of suspect or non-conforming material.
- Lead and coordinate with downstream partners to manage excursions and investigations.
- Partner with other organizations to drive improvements in quality and reliability performance.
- Develop metrics and goals for end-of-line-hold operations and ensure they are met.
- Identify and drive activities to improve detection and containment of unreliable material.
- Lead certification and ramp of new technologies from development teams.
- Provide 24x7 on-call response to urgent line issues and support task force-level projects.
