The Product Development Engineer will work within the System Engineering group at KLA in Totowa, NJ, focusing on the development and testing of next-generation devices for chemical analysis technology. This role involves collaborating with various teams to conceptualize and design new devices, ensuring they meet specific requirements and performance standards. The engineer will also engage in troubleshooting and optimizing tool performance while supporting both internal and external customers. Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
Requirements
- Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience or Bachelor's Level Degree with 2 years of related work experience.
- Familiarity with scientific and statistical analysis tools such as Matlab, Python, and LabView.
- Experience or related study in microfluidic systems, material science, spectrophotometry, or related disciplines.
- Strong background in engineering or physical sciences with demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of mechanical, fiber-optic, fluidic, and electromechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Work with Applications, R&D, and engineering to define requirements and develop specifications for the chemical analysis process.
- Develop improvement plans and test plans to meet requirements and drive vendor execution.
- Evaluate and test materials used for devices to determine compatibility with application chemistry.
- Conceptualize and design new devices, defining requirements and identifying gaps.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering groups to define and review designs and test plans.
