Job description
The Packaging Engineer will join the Central Engineering team in Milpitas, focusing on the day-to-day operations of the global packaging group. This role involves building shipping container solutions and advising internal customers on efficient packaging procedures. The engineer will work with minimal supervision and utilize project management practices to meet deliverables. Collaboration with a small core team is essential to tackle complex packaging challenges.
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in Packaging Engineering or a relevant field with hands-on mechanical skills
- Knowledge of Electronic / Clean Room packaging
- Demonstrated knowledge of packaging materials including paperboard, containerboard, plastic films, and foam cushions
- Proficient in CAD CREO, SolidWorks, ArtiosCAD, and AutoCAD
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities
- Build shipping container solutions from 3D models, engineering drawings, and product samples
- Receive broad goals and objectives from Program Managers and perform tasks with minimal direction
- Advise internal customers or suppliers on efficient packaging procedures and materials
- Generate concepts, design, and develop structural packaging solutions
- Lead project portfolio of multiple components and delivery dates
