The Senior UTM Engineer will be part of the DoorDash Air team, which is focused on developing drone delivery systems. This role involves building core components for internal route planning and airspace deconfliction, ensuring safe and efficient flight operations. The team is composed of experienced professionals from various robotics industries, dedicated to enhancing last-mile logistics through innovative technologies. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in distributed systems to contribute to a fast-moving aerial delivery network.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in the full lifecycle of distributed systems in aviation, finance, communications, healthcare, or similar fields.
• Experience building and shipping production services that interoperate with external systems.
• Hands-on experience with path planning, routing, or deconfliction problems in dynamic environments.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience with languages common to safety-critical systems.

• Design, build, and deploy interoperable services that pass rigorous conformance testing.
• Develop novel path planning and airspace deconfliction algorithms for real-world environments.
• Build tools to evaluate and optimize airspace efficiency and utilization.
• Design integrations connecting the deconfliction stack to existing DoorDash systems.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, commercial operations, and flight operations to ship features.
