Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer position in Rocky Mount, NC focuses on providing engineering support to production lines to ensure safe and efficient operations. The role involves managing capital projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing processes and metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Candidates will utilize their technical problem-solving skills and project management capabilities to drive improvements in quality and productivity. A background in Six Sigma and experience with tool design or automated equipment will be advantageous.

Requirements

  • A college degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Basic level of relevant work experience is required.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher is preferred.
  • Experience in tool design, automated equipment, or troubleshooting complex systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day engineering support to production lines.
  • Assist with project activities to develop and implement manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute technical knowledge to enhance equipment capabilities.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts to identify inefficiencies.
  • Assist in creating and refining manufacturing standards and procedures.
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies to develop efficient manufacturing systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on project assignments.
  • Support efforts to reinforce a strong safety culture in manufacturing operations.
