Job description

The Azure Storage Fundamentals team is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to design and develop the next generation of Microsoft's cloud storage solution. This role involves addressing reliability and scale requirements while integrating new teams into Azure Cloud storage-based designs. The engineer will work on installing, maintaining, and automating Azure Storage repositories and pipelines, as well as improving test automations. Candidates should have a passion for high-quality software development and enjoy collaborating within a dynamic team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, Powershell, or Python.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.
  • Contribute to the identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.
  • Create and implement code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
  • Contribute to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provide estimation.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) monitoring system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
  • Remain current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance.
