This role is part of the Perception Systems team at Rivian, focusing on the data-loop, triage, and model evaluation processes necessary for deploying perception models for autonomy features. The position involves conducting root-cause analysis to understand performance issues and writing software that interfaces with the perception and autonomy stack. • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience deploying autonomy in the real world.
• Strong familiarity with machine learning in a production environment.

• Investigate model performance issues with a system-level and sensor performance lens.
• Develop software and tooling to streamline root-cause analysis, data analysis, and evaluation workflows.
• Analyze data-loop processes and triage results to specify requirements for improved data collection, labeling, or augmentation.
• Develop robust KPIs and metrics to identify and prevent future regressions from perception models.
• Work closely with teams across the larger perception group and systems engineering to address technical challenges.
