Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a Systems Software Engineer to join the GeForce NOW Platform Engineering team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance gaming servers utilizing NVIDIA GPUs. The ideal candidate will work in a cross-functional environment to enhance cloud game streaming. A passion for software design and performance optimization is essential.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in system software engineering for platform performance.
  • Knowledge of OS kernel internals, memory management, and computer architecture.
  • Proficiency in Python, C, C++, or Rust.
  • Experience working in performance-critical software, tools, and CPU/GPU scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize game performance, Linux Kernel, KVM Hypervisor, and system software at scale.
  • Understand and apply gaming workloads and streaming software for kernel and user space interactions.
  • Bridge the gap between software and hardware for a cloud streaming service.
  • Analyze factors that influence the performance and stability of games.
