Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a highly motivated senior software engineer to join the Networking Business Unit, focusing on data forwarding technologies and network functions virtualization. The role involves developing software for Ethernet switching platforms and SmartNICs, contributing to innovative solutions for modern data centers. The engineer will work with cutting-edge tools and techniques while collaborating with various teams on feature development and defect resolution. This position offers an opportunity to lead multi-functional teams and drive significant projects.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of software development experience in data forwarding on Ethernet switching silicon and/or offload on SmartNICs.
  • Strong and validated experience in C programming.
  • Strong technical abilities, problem solving, design, coding and debugging skills.
  • Previous experience leading feature development and delivering independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to swiftly understand new requirements and technologies and quickly prototype and implement solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test and maintain new functionality and improvements related to forwarding and offload of routing, ACLs, QOS, CLAG, NAT, policy-based routing, VxLAN-EVPN and more.
  • Work on data forwarding on Ethernet switching platforms and SmartNICs based on the roadmap.
  • Collaborate with team members, architects, QA and Support teams on feature definition, development, release and defect fixing.
  • Lead and guide multi-functional teams on large feature development activities for senior levels.
