Job description

The Wireless System Engineer at Apple will be part of a dynamic team focused on crafting innovative wireless SoC products. This role involves system integration, characterization, and debugging of advanced wireless technologies. The engineer will engage with the first silicon to ensure optimal performance and reliability in Apple products. A strong understanding of communication theory and experience with test equipment will be essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • BS degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in wireless system design, integration, or bring-up.
  • MSEE or Ph.D. with relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of existing wireless communication protocols such as 802.11 and LTE.
  • Understanding of communication theory and key Tx/Rx metrics like EVM and sensitivity.
  • Experience with radio calibration algorithms and system characterization.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab, Perl, C/C++, or C#.
  • Experience with automation infrastructure development and related tools.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and characterize state-of-the-art wireless SoC products.
  • Bring up and debug the PHY and radio system operation and performance.
  • Optimize performance using communication theory and calibration algorithms.
  • Use test equipment to identify and resolve issues in the silicon.
  • Develop test automation including equipment drivers and reporting tools.
