Job description

The Data Center Controls Critical Facilities Engineer role is part of Apple's Infrastructure Services team within the Information Systems and Technology organization. This team is responsible for managing data center equipment and systems to ensure seamless global network operations. The engineer will work in a critical environment focused on continuous improvement and innovation. The position requires a commitment to maintaining and optimizing control systems that support Apple's vast network of devices and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent vocational achievements and practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with control system software and tools, such as PLC, Siemens, JCI, or Schneider.
  • Solid understanding of virtual machine (VM) concepts.
  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on field experience.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in engineering software tools, including AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Expertise in virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize control systems for mechanical, electrical, server, and virtual components.
  • Lead or participate in projects that involve upgrading or enhancing control systems.
  • Address complex topics pertaining to applications, devices, processes, and systems.
  • Ensure the technology underneath everything works without question.
  • Collaborate with teams across Apple to deliver compute, storage, and networking services.
