Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior DevTech Compute Engineer focused on Compression and Data Processing. This role involves prototyping and developing innovative methods for GPU-accelerated distributed data processing. The Developer Technology Compute team emphasizes a holistic approach to data movement and optimization of complex workloads. Candidates will work closely with technical experts and major customers to enhance performance and influence the design of next-generation hardware and software.

Requirements

  • Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Math, or a related computationally focused science degree.
  • At least 5+ years of relevant work or research experience with a track record in state-of-the-art systems or complex projects.
  • Hands-on experience with low-level parallel programming across execution units such as CPU, GPU, NPU, or ASICs.
  • Fluency in C/C++, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Understanding of CPU/GPU/NPU architecture fundamentals, memory subsystems, caches, NICs, and storage I/O.
  • Domain expertise in data processing, compression and decompression, codecs, or high-performance distributed databases.

Responsibilities

  • Prototype and integrate novel approaches to GPU-accelerated distributed data processing domains.
  • Perform in-depth analysis and optimization of complex data-intensive workloads.
  • Influence the design of next-generation hardware architectures, software, and programming models.
  • Collaborate with NVIDIA's largest customers and CSPs to integrate solutions at Speed-Of-Light.
  • Contribute to the development of open standards in data analytics and compression.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
