Job description
This role is part of Apple's Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization, specifically within the Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team. The team focuses on implementing and maintaining highly scalable, low-latency, distributed enterprise platforms that support Apple's global operations. The ideal candidate will work on complex problems, contributing to the architecture and planning of core functionalities. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to ambiguous situations while delivering high-quality solutions.
Requirements
- Excellent Java development experience, with a preference for full stack engineers.
- 5+ years of experience developing Java/J2EE applications, focusing on reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented techniques, algorithms, Java design patterns, and reusable component design.
- Hands-on experience with building and maintaining distributed WebServices based on service-oriented architecture (SOA) methodologies.
- Expertise with Oracle database, including designing database schemas, writing and tuning SQL queries, and developing Oracle PL/SQL packages.
- Experience with Oracle failover and replication strategies.
- Experience designing features to be bulletproof and low maintenance.
- Strong analysis, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience leveraging enterprise messaging using Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and Java Message Service (JMS).
- Experience with React and knowledge of application vulnerabilities such as Cross Site Scripting (XSS) and Cross Site Request Forgery (CSRF).
- Experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications with Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with build and software delivery systems.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
