Job description

As a Security Analytics Engineer at Netflix, you will join the Consumer Security Foundations team, which focuses on securing Netflix's consumer products. Your role will involve hands-on analytics to identify consumer risks and build data foundations, metrics, and dashboards that provide actionable insights. You will collaborate with various teams to shape the strategy behind security risk metrics and influence how risk narratives are communicated at the leadership level. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking to enhance Netflix's security posture.

Requirements

  • Domain expertise in consumer product security, including fraud, account security, and authentication.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with experience in maintainable code and scalable data pipelines.
  • Expertise in analytics tools such as SQL, Presto, Spark SQL, and Python.
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and techniques, including AI/LLM-based tools.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and building data models from scratch.
  • A strong bias for action and the ability to make decisions with incomplete information.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the analytics behind device and authentication risk by analyzing signals like device trust and access patterns.
  • Shape the strategy for consumer security risk metrics and translate findings into actionable dashboards.
  • Define and evolve the consumer product risk portfolio by quantifying and prioritizing risk areas.
  • Influence the risk narrative presented at leadership meetings through analysis and reporting.
  • Partner with security PMs and product teams to define comprehensive security metrics for each product vertical.
  • Collaborate with threat-modeling partners to proactively address emerging risks.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and metrics that support analytics and dashboards.

Benefits

  • Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
