The Data Scientist role at Netflix focuses on enhancing the Messaging Data Science & Engineering team by leveraging data, analytics, and experimentation to optimize member communications. This position involves close collaboration with the Consumer Messaging Program team and other cross-functional teams to design tests and build measurement frameworks. The goal is to ensure that messaging strategies effectively engage members and drive business outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in experimentation and causal inference, as well as excellent communication skills.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience with a strong focus on experimentation and causal inference.
• Hands-on experience designing and analyzing experiments, including causal inference techniques.
• Exceptional communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, including experience with dashboards and automations.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects end-to-end.

• Design and run rigorous A/B tests to evaluate Messaging strategies.
• Exercise causal inference techniques when clean tests are not feasible.
• Help define and evolve Messaging's experimentation standards and measurement framework.
• Own the code, data pipelines, and dataset enrichment for analyses.
• Automate recurring analysis work to improve team efficiency.
• Translate open-ended business asks into well-scoped projects.
• Build scalable data solutions as Messaging expands into new business verticals.
