Job description

The Silicon Photonics Integrated Circuit Engineer at Intel will be pivotal in defining, designing, and optimizing advanced silicon photonic integrated circuits. This role is part of the Integrated Photonics Solutions team, which focuses on high-impact research and development in silicon photonics technology. The engineer will contribute to all stages of chip development, ensuring high performance and reliability. This position offers an opportunity to shape photonic technologies that drive Intel's innovation in the industry.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in relevant fields and 8+ years of industry experience or a PhD with 6+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience in development of photonic-integrated-circuits from concept to high volume manufacturing.
  • Experience designing, simulating, and testing complex photonic integrated circuits.
  • Familiarity with optical design and simulation tools such as Lumerical, RSoft, or Matlab.
  • Experience contributing to or leading photonic integrated circuit tape-outs.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and optimize complex active and passive silicon photonic integrated circuits.
  • Develop and execute plans for chip design, layout, tape out, test, validation, and performance debug.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with foundries, validation teams, manufacturers, and quality/reliability groups.
  • Conduct data analysis, reliability, qualification, and delivery of known-good-die solutions.
  • Drive high-volume manufacturing enabling flows and ensure seamless integration of photonic technologies.
