Requirements
- The candidate must have a Bachelor's in CS, EECS, ECE or related computing discipline and 3+ years' experience, or a Master's in CS, EECS, ECE, or related computing discipline with 2+ years' experience, or a PhD in CS, EECS, ECE, or related computing discipline.
- Experience with high performance micro-architecture techniques and research.
- Experience with CPU architecture and micro-architecture simulators, tracing technologies, and performance analysis.
- 6+ months experience or coursework with C++.
Responsibilities
- Develop and drive end-to-end CPU architecture specifications based on hardware features and requirements.
- Define targets and content that meet CPU requirements for performance, power, frequency, and area.
- Evaluate feasibility tradeoffs and explore new approaches for CPU architecture.
- Invent and specify architectural features to optimize CPU requirements for various segments.
- Model CPU performance and power, analyzing bottlenecks for future usage.
- Develop tests and testing infrastructure for new CPU architectures and features.
- Provide experimental changes for proposing design alternatives that meet constraints.
- Review and influence cross-functional roadmaps and define technology targets for future CPUs.
- Collaborate with architects, design, verification, and validation engineers during project execution.
- Deliver definitions of new microarchitecture and find mitigations for implementation issues.
