Job description
The Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) Process Development Engineer at Intel will focus on developing and sustaining planarization techniques for various materials and architectures in the semiconductor industry. This role is part of the Logic Technology Development (LTD) organization, which is dedicated to overcoming challenges associated with Moore's Law. The engineer will collaborate with a diverse team of scientists and engineers to innovate fabrication processes and ensure the mass production of integrated circuits. The position requires a strong understanding of physics, chemistry, and materials science.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related Scientific STEM field with 5+ years of Semiconductor Industry experience.
- Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related Scientific STEM field with 4+ years of Semiconductor Industry experience.
- PhD degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related Scientific STEM field with at least 1+ years of Semiconductor Industry experience.
- Direct experience in Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) process development with hands-on process tuning and characterization is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Drive technology development and enablement for high volume manufacturing and future technology.
- Lead design and development of manufacturing processes and repair reverse engineering.
- Perform pathfinding activities in support of process and hardware development.
- Recommend and implement modifications for operating equipment to improve production efficiency.
- Partner with key equipment and materials suppliers to develop enabling elements of the technology.
- Perform process technology feasibility studies through theoretical simulations and practical engineering methods.
