Job description
The role of a senior release engineer within Apple's Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization focuses on leading and innovating release management processes for cloud network services. This team is responsible for managing data center equipment and systems that support Apple's global network operations. The position requires expertise in cloud networking, software reliability, and performance engineering to ensure high availability and resilience of services. The ideal candidate will work on sophisticated release pipelines and contribute to the operationalization of large-scale testing platforms.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Experience designing and operationalizing large-scale release testing platforms
- Solid understanding of cloud-native networking components such as VPCs, peering, and firewalls
- Expert knowledge of API design and interface technologies including JSON, REST, and XML
- In-depth knowledge of K8s, OpenStack, and infrastructure as code
- Strong knowledge of observability systems including metrics, logging, and tracing
- Broad knowledge of networking solutions across OSI layers 3 through 7
Responsibilities
- Lead and innovate release management processes for cloud network services
