Job description
Morgan Stanley is seeking an experienced Strat/Engineer for their Human Resources team in New York. This Vice President role focuses on building and owning internal HR applications, data services, and workflow solutions to enhance HR's use of technology and data. The position requires collaboration with senior business leaders, HR, and Finance to develop scalable solutions that improve HR operations and provide insights to the business. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strategic thinking to reshape workforce data consumption.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another quantitative discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 6+ years of relevant professional experience in software applications or internal tools.
- Strong Python and SQL development skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, or AWS.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize data into insights.
- Strong understanding of data governance and model validation.
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and deploy internal HR applications and tools.
- Lead core HR process cycles, providing technical and analytical support.
- Own the full product and development lifecycle from discovery to enhancement.
- Develop backend services, APIs, and data pipelines connecting HR applications to enterprise data platforms.
- Partner with senior leadership to translate workforce needs into product requirements.
- Apply software engineering practices including version control and automated testing.
- Evaluate and deploy emerging technologies to enhance HR capabilities.
- Create intuitive user interfaces and workflow experiences for HR processes.
- Integrate applications with governed HR data, ensuring validation and access controls.
- Work directly with users to prototype solutions and gather feedback.
