Job description
The role involves overseeing the complete design process for KLA's metrology and inspection products within the Global Products Group. The team focuses on advanced semiconductor manufacturing solutions, ensuring high lithography yields. Candidates will engage in innovative design challenges, including precision mechanism design and functionality in ultra-clean environments. This position requires collaboration with various engineering disciplines to support system integration and testing.
Requirements
- A Doctorate degree with 3 years of related work experience, a Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in 3D solid modeling.
- At least 1 year of experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong background in the design of mechanisms and basic understanding of optical subsystems.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and castings.
Responsibilities
- Drive the design process from requirements specification to release to manufacturing.
- Develop and track project cost and schedule.
- Generate detailed models and drawings using 3D solid modeling software such as Creo.
- Conduct various analyses including fluid, thermal, and vibrational through hand calculations and FEA modeling.
- Perform detailed tolerance stack-up analysis and understand Geometric Tolerancing.
- Participate in and lead design reviews for peer-oriented design assessments.
- Procure, assemble, and test prototype materials.
- Support system integration and testing activities.
- Create assembly and test procedures and generate documentation for manufacturing handoff.
