Job description
The role involves leading the complete design process for KLA's metrology and inspection products within the Global Products Group. The team focuses on creating innovative solutions for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. Candidates will engage in various design challenges, including precision mechanism design and functionality in ultra-clean environments. This position requires collaboration with expert teams to ensure high-quality product development and manufacturing integration.
Requirements
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum 3 years work experience in 3D solid modeling.
- Minimum 1 year work experience in FEA and GD&T.
- Strong background in the design of mechanisms.
- Basic understanding of optical subsystems.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding fabrication, and castings.
- Doctorate degree with 0 years of related work experience, Master's degree with 3 years of related work experience, or Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related work experience.
Responsibilities
- Drive design from beginning to end including requirements specification, feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed design, build, and release to manufacturing.
- Develop and track cost and schedule for projects.
- Generate detailed models and drawings using 3D solid modeling (Creo).
- Conduct various analyses such as fluid, thermal, and vibrational through both hand calculations and FEA modeling.
- Understand and use Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T) in design.
- Perform detailed tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Participate in and lead design reviews to obtain peer-oriented design assessments throughout the design process.
- Procure, assemble, and test prototype material.
- Support system integration and testing.
- Create assembly and test procedures.
- Generate documentation and support release and handoff to manufacturing.
