Job description

The role involves developing embedded firmware and software for heterogeneous SoC platforms, focusing on precision motion control and machine automation. The team is part of KLA's Global Products Group, which creates metrology and inspection products for semiconductor manufacturing. Candidates will collaborate with various engineering teams across global locations to enhance and maintain existing software architectures. The position requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work directly with customers and technology partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in embedded Linux development, including BSP customization and device drivers.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
  • Hands-on experience with the Yocto Project for BSP integration and Linux distribution creation.
  • Experience with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS or TI-RTOS.

Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded firmware and software in C/C++ for heterogeneous SoC platforms.
  • Design and implement software for precision motion control and machine automation.
  • Analyze system-level requirements and debug low-level software for complex hardware subsystems.
  • Develop and maintain Board Support Packages (BSPs) and device drivers for embedded Linux systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Electrical, FPGA, Mechanical, Systems, and Product Engineering teams.
