Job description
This role involves shaping the integration of AI with modern data engineering and analytics to enhance Apple's Business and Education products. The team focuses on building infrastructure, platforms, and services that support enterprise and education customers. The position requires a well-rounded builder with extensive experience in software, data, or ML engineering, particularly in shipping Applied AI products. The goal is to create AI-native capabilities that redefine data organization at Apple scale.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, software engineering, or ML engineering.
- 3+ years of experience building and shipping Applied AI and agentic LLM systems in production.
- Hands-on fluency with modern LLM and agent frameworks.
- Experience delivering ETL/ELT, streaming, and CDC pipelines.
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one high-level programming language.
- A foundation in machine learning and deep learning.
- Experience with MLOps and LLMOps.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and operate production AI products composed of LLMs and deterministic components.
- Design and build scalable data platforms using modern cloud-native patterns.
- Deliver ETL/ELT, streaming, and CDC pipelines with appropriate technologies.
- Lead technical architecture and design reviews while mentoring engineers.
- Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams to influence strategy.
- Drive loosely defined problems to completion with meticulous attention to detail.
- Customize models and prompts at scale for domain-specific tasks.
