The team is responsible for building the infrastructure and services that support enterprise and education customers, focusing on data engineering and analytics. The position requires a well-rounded builder with experience in software, data, or ML engineering, particularly in shipping Applied AI products. The goal is to define an AI-first data organization at Apple scale, emphasizing hands-on coding and architectural thinking.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, software engineering, or ML engineering.
- 3+ years of experience building and shipping Applied AI and agentic LLM systems in production.
- Hands-on fluency with modern LLM and agent frameworks.
- Experience delivering ETL/ELT, streaming, and CDC pipelines.
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one high-level programming language.
- A foundation in machine learning and deep learning.
- Experience with MLOps and LLMOps.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and operate production AI products composed of LLMs and deterministic components.
- Design and build scalable data platforms on modern cloud-native patterns.
- Implement evaluation harnesses, guardrails, and telemetry for AI systems.
- Mentor engineers and lead architecture and design reviews.
- Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams to influence strategy.
- Drive loosely defined problems to completion with attention to detail.
- Build natural-language interfaces over data and analytics tools.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
