Amazon Route 53 is seeking a mid-level Software Development Engineer in Arlington, VA to join a team focused on designing and operating the Route 53 Resolver DNS Firewall and Route 53 Profiles. The team is responsible for managing cloud-native DNS security and resource management services that protect millions of VPCs. The role involves working across the entire stack to enhance detection features and architect next-generation protections. Successful candidates will have a background in large-scale distributed systems and strong communication skills.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and testing
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Work across the entire stack including control plane and data plane.
• Design and build advanced detection features for DNS security.
• Enhance configurability for customers and architect next-generation protections.
• Drive system architecture and spearhead best practices for product quality.
• Coach and develop junior engineers on the team.
