The Sustaining Test Development Engineer role at Amazon Robotics focuses on developing, supporting, and improving manufacturing test systems for electro-mechanical sub-assemblies. This position emphasizes test development and sustaining engineering, requiring a creative and detail-oriented engineer with experience in automated test systems. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in manufacturing test engineering or related automation roles
- Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis
- Proficiency in LabVIEW for instrument control and test sequencing
- Proficiency in NI TestStand for test sequence development
- Demonstrated expertise in test strategy development for complex electro-mechanical systems
- Experience with hardware communication protocols including UART, SPI, and I2C
- Working knowledge of electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes and digital multimeters
- Understanding of test engineering fundamentals such as measurement uncertainty and statistical process control
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and PCB layouts
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain manufacturing test software using Python, LabVIEW, and NI TestStand
- Develop and integrate test sequences in NI TestStand for production-level testing
- Create and maintain custom test fixture designs and wiring harnesses for DUT connectivity
- Develop instrument control drivers and DUT communication APIs using Python or LabVIEW
- Partner with product design teams to define Design for Testability requirements
- Analyze test data and drive yield improvements using statistical methodologies
- Debug and troubleshoot complex test failures across software and hardware interfaces
- Document test procedures, specifications, and software design documents
- Propose design changes to enhance product manufacturability and testability
- Aide End of Line test stations at local contract manufacturers
