The Amazon Managed Streaming for Kafka (MSK) team is seeking engineers to contribute to a fully managed service that simplifies building and running applications using Apache Kafka for data streaming. This role involves working on the entire stack, including APIs, workflows, and core Kafka platform enhancements. Ideal candidates will have a passion for open source and solving customer business needs at scale. The position offers a unique opportunity to bridge open source technology with Amazon's internal software development.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Collaborate with other engineers to build a large scale AWS service
• Design and build new features for the Amazon MSK service
• Make performance improvements to the core Kafka platform
• Identify and investigate new technologies for potential integration
• Prototype solutions and build scalable services to enhance customer experience
