Job description

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Amazon Robotics, you will lead the research and development of next-generation sensor and compute technology for robotic systems. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to design and develop embedded software that enables artificial intelligence on edge computing. This role offers the opportunity to influence technology roadmaps and system architecture while collaborating with various internal and external partners. Your contributions will directly impact the functionality and efficiency of Amazon's fulfillment network.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • 2+ years of experience contributing to systems architecture and design
  • BA/BS/MS/PhD in computer science, computer engineering or related discipline
  • High level of proficiency with C/C++ programming languages
  • 6+ years of embedded software development experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
  • Experience with sensors including camera, stereo camera, time-of-flight sensors, Radar, and Lidar
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Research emerging sensor technologies and evaluate potential applications in Amazon fulfillment network
  • Partner with hardware, software, test and operations teams as well as third party suppliers to develop next generation sensors and computers
  • Architect system design, define requirements, write system specifications and create test plans
  • Design and develop full stack embedded software including device drivers and applications
  • Advise internal teams on sensor stack design and integration
  • Aide product release to manufacturing and customer deployment
