AWS is seeking a highly motivated Optical Network Engineer to join the Amazon Dedicated Cloud Network Scaling and Deployment team. This role focuses on expanding AWS's next-generation IP network infrastructure through automation and innovative cloud networking technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience in optical networking and will be responsible for leading large-scale network projects. This position requires a commitment to 24/7 operations and the ability to work on-site for critical events.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification such as CND, GSEC, Network+, or Security+
• Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience with IP protocols
• At least 1 year of experience working with optical protocols and technologies
• Hands-on experience in optical system and network design
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above

• Plan and deliver network optical scaling and build projects, including high-level and low-level reviews.
• Troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, and performance issues.
• Lead network projects in optical engineering and network optimization.
• Collaborate with Network/Infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with standards.
• Create and review documentation regarding network implementations and procedures.
