Job description
The Software Development Engineer role at Amazon Robotics focuses on advancing reinforcement learning for manipulation in robotics. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 3+ years of programming experience using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#
- Experience working effectively with science, data processing, and software engineering teams
- Experience building and operating scalable backend systems, services, or data pipelines
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
- Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems
- Experience with machine learning infrastructure
- Experience improving the productivity of a research or science team through tooling and infrastructure
- Experience with robotics software stacks or simulation environments
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning or the training-to-deployment lifecycle for learned models
Responsibilities
- Build the tooling and automation the team needs to run and scale experiments.
- Partner with scientists to get learned policies running in real time on robot hardware.
- Identify and remove the recurring engineering bottlenecks that slow the team down.
- Write production-quality code and build systems the team can rely on and reuse.
- Partner with teams across simulation, control, hardware, and infrastructure to scale reliably and quickly.
