Job description
The Audio Product System Quality team is seeking a motivated Software Engineer in Test to enhance the quality assurance of advanced audio products like AirPods. This role involves collaborating with firmware, software, and hardware teams to ensure optimal audio experiences for customers. The engineer will focus on building automated frameworks for testing and will leverage machine learning to improve testing processes. The position requires a blend of technical skills and teamwork to identify risks and support engineering investigations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- 2 years of experience involving machine learning algorithms and their practical applications
- Professional work experience testing embedded systems
- Hands-on programming experience with Python
- Familiarity with software engineering fundamentals such as version control, testing, and debugging
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a cross-disciplinary team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with hardware, firmware, and software validation and integration
- Background in data science, machine learning, computer vision, or statistical data analysis
- Knowledge of real-time audio or Bluetooth technologies
- Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau or Superset
Responsibilities
- Develop key new areas for AirPods functional, stability, and performance test coverage.
- Build and maintain automated frameworks to gather test data weekly.
- Plan, design, and write code for system automation focusing on hardware and firmware risks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple engineering and QA/QE teams to identify risk areas.
- Support engineering investigations related to hardware, firmware, and software.
- Enhance existing automation processes that run thousands of iterations daily.
