Job description
The Finance Software Engineer is a technical expert responsible for the analysis, design, and implementation of full-stack web applications and automation solutions within Apple's global Finance organization. This role involves working closely with business partners to analyze requirements and recommend optimizations, while developing bespoke applications to enhance business efficiency. The engineer will follow the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and adhere to stringent coding standards and compliance requirements. A unique blend of skills in business process, project management, and various development disciplines is essential for success in this role.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or Masters degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Mathematics or other quantitative discipline required.
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Solid technical foundation and experience with designing, developing, testing, deploying and supporting applications and automation solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle and Software Quality Control in an Agile environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with web development using LAMP, JavaScript libraries, object-oriented programming languages, SQL, APIs, and relational databases.
- Education or experience working with finance/accounting data, especially with SAP.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with business partners, analysts, and other engineers to conceptualize, create, develop, document, test, and upgrade web applications and their components.
- Write efficient code and develop full-stack applications based on requirements.
- Test and deploy programs and applications following the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Triage, debug, maintain, and improve existing applications.
- Create technical documentation for application support and future application development.
- Enhance existing applications based on business requirements.
- Implement and maintain application compliance with InfoSec, Privacy, and SOX guidelines.
- Collaborate with other engineers to define and adopt best practices in application and software development.
- Partner with DevOps to identify and review capabilities of emerging technologies.
