- 6+ years of experience in data center design, construction, or operations with a focus on thermal modeling.
- Deep proficiency in CFD software such as Ansys Fluent or similar.
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++ for data analysis and automation.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical test fixtures, sensors, and data acquisition systems.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Experience in designing or testing high-density or liquid cooling systems.
- Knowledge of BIM/Revit for facility layout.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE guidelines for data center thermal management.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain high-fidelity system models of data center mechanical systems.
- Develop and execute CFD simulations to predict thermal performance and airflow distribution.
- Automate simulation workflows and scenario testing using scripting tools.
- Lead pre-deployment validation of new mechanical products.
- Design and execute Hardware-in-the-Loop lab testing for realistic datacenter scenarios.
- Define and own Design Verification Plans and test procedures for prototype hardware.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis on design failures and produce validation reports.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to validate integrated system performance.
- Develop institutional validation frameworks that scale across datacenter programs.
- Ensure deployed systems are validated against realistic failure scenarios.
Benefits
- Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs.
