Job description

As a Systems Debug Engineer, you will provide hands-on support for data center development programs and labs. You will work in a cross-functional environment, collaborating with electrical engineering teams and other experts to triage, debug, and perform failure analysis on hardware. Your expertise in server platforms and electrical engineering will be crucial in tackling complex problems. This role involves setting up data center hardware, running tests, and documenting results to support early product development.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4–8 years in systems engineering, hardware integration, or manufacturing engineering in a server or HPC environment.
  • Hands-on experience with SoC troubleshooting, board-level debug, failure analysis, and diagnostics.
  • Strong server architecture expertise, including component firmware upgrade processes.
  • Proficient in Python and Bash, with experience in automating infrastructure provisioning and validation workflows.
  • MS degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support for data center development programs and labs.
  • Triage, debug, and perform failure analysis on hardware deployed in labs.
  • Set up data center hardware and run tests on pre-production hardware.
  • Build, maintain, and debug both custom and OEM hardware to support multiple programs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware development, validation, and software development teams.
  • Test hardware under various environmental conditions for power and temperature.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
