• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering field
• Intimate knowledge of a typical stage/gate product development process
• Strong technical background with an understanding of product design and manufacturing processes
• Factory experience related to forming and finishing processes, particularly in consumer electronics
• Deep expertise with 'should cost' modeling and managing a costed BOM
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills in multinational environments
• Ability to travel approximately 20% internationally and 30% domestically
• BSME or equivalent; MBA is a plus

• Engage with engineering teams during early product development phases to provide feedback on architecture and cost.
• Work with early development supplier partners to define overall architecture while balancing cost.
• Investigate and propose alternative manufacturing processes, materials, designs, and suppliers to optimize cost.
• Manage overall mechanical cost BOM and influence cross-functional teams to meet cost targets.
• Collaborate with operations partners to understand the downstream impact of upstream design decisions.
• Identify the right supplier partners to secure product quality, supply, and long-term cost-competitiveness.
• Develop supplier relationships to align vendor mindsets with strategic organizational needs.
• Identify and drive special projects related to costs and develop scalable cost solutions.
• Liaise between operational cross-functional teams and operations-focused GSM teammates as needed.
