Job description
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer for the Pixel Watch at Google will play a crucial role in the product development lifecycle, collaborating closely with design engineering and manufacturing partners. This position focuses on driving early hardware design decisions and developing efficient, high-volume assembly processes. The engineer will ensure that design for manufacturing principles are integrated into product architectures. The role is part of a team dedicated to creating innovative wearable devices that enhance users' lives through technology.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in technical program management and manufacturing engineering.
- Experience leading the specification, development, and implementation of manufacturing fixtures, equipment, and process flows.
- Experience collaborating with design teams early in the hardware lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Influence product definition and architecture selection in collaboration with product design teams.
- Develop manufacturing processes and fixtures in collaboration with manufacturing partners and equipment providers.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency, flexibility, and scalability through analysis and planning.
- Identify, investigate, analyze, and integrate new manufacturing processes, technologies, and equipment.
- Manage cross-functional programs with global teams and contract manufacturing partners.
