Job description

The CPU Power Modeling Engineer at Google will be part of a team focused on developing custom silicon solutions that enhance the performance and efficiency of Google's products. This role involves engaging in CPU architecture and system-level energy modeling, performance analysis, and power optimization. The engineer will work closely with the SoC and CPU Power Teams to ensure accurate power projections and requirements. This position is critical in shaping the next generation of hardware experiences for users worldwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in industry or equivalent research.
  • Experience with low-power systems, data analytics, and profiling.
  • Experience in flow automation using Python, C, C++, or Gemini.
  • Experience with data science.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and mentor talented individual contributor engineers for CPU architecture and energy modeling activities.
  • Develop a system-level power model for battery life analysis and energy optimization.
  • Collaborate with the SoC and CPU Power Teams on power projections and requirements.
  • Perform workload analysis for battery life and define tests for power analysis and optimization.
  • Conduct data mining analysis at the RTL and gate-level for high-level power estimation.
