Job description

The Apple Thermal team is looking for a Thermal Engineer to contribute to the design and definition of Apple products. This role focuses on ensuring that thermal objectives are met throughout the product development process. The engineer will work in a collaborative environment, applying their expertise in heat and fluid flow to solve complex design challenges. Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting are essential for success.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of thermal design experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Deep technical expertise in conduction, convection, and radiation
  • Practical knowledge of thermal interface materials, heat sinks, and cooling solutions
  • Experience with consumer electronics thermal validations
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Heat Transfer or Fluid Dynamics and 3+ years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Ensure thermal objectives are met from concept to design fruition
  • Lead the design and implementation of thermal solutions
  • Define and guide thermal and flow experiments to characterize materials and systems
  • Analyze system test data and prepare summary reports
  • Communicate status and results to cross-functional teams and management
  • Occasional travel for project-related needs
