Job description
The Systems Engineer role within Amazon's Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovations (RDPI) team focuses on deploying advanced industrial automation and robotics technologies across North America. This position requires strong technical skills for overseeing project planning, installation, and launch of robotic systems. The team collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure successful integration and operation of these technologies. The role involves extensive travel, with expectations of being on-site for project execution and management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical degree or related experience
- 1+ years of experience with technical drawings and/or reading CAD models
- 1+ years of experience working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems
- Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems to resolve escalations
- Proven experience working on hardware integration or complex mechanical-electrical or networked industrial equipment
- Practical understanding of network fundamentals
- Willingness to work primarily in a construction or warehouse environment and travel extensively
Responsibilities
- Oversee large scale project planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation technologies
- Support and guide installation of robotics, packaging, and sortation technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, technical program managers, product managers, and internal customers
- Manage day-to-day project scheduling and budget management
- Lead teams of other engineers on projects
- Travel to project sites across North America to ensure alignment on program status
- Work on continuous improvement activities to enhance project execution
