Job description
The Sr. Process Engineer at Rivian will focus on optimizing battery module and pack production through process improvements and equipment troubleshooting. This role requires collaboration with design and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure high-volume production while maintaining quality and safety standards. The position is based in Normal, IL, and involves a flexible shift schedule. The ideal candidate will have a passion for innovation and a commitment to sustainability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or equivalent experience preferred
- 3-5+ years of engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing operation, preferably in automotive or battery manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with supporting production equipment including mechanical, electrical, control systems, automation, and robotics
- Experience in using 2D & 3D modeling tools such as AutoCAD and CATIA/ENOVIA
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering changes and new program launches
- Review, interpret, and summarize statistical data to drive process improvement
- Develop work instructions, standardized work, process flow, and process documentation
- Work with design engineering to establish designs suitable for high-volume production
- Perform time analysis and manage staffing requirements to drive line balancing
