Job description
As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – Drive Unit at Rivian, you will focus on designing and implementing rotor manufacturing processes and equipment. You will lead the development of new manufacturing line infrastructure and guide best practices for product design. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure project execution and compliance with standards. You will also mentor engineers and drive corrective actions for process quality and performance issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
- Experience with magnet feeding and insertion, rotor balancing systems, and drive unit manufacturing engineering is preferred.
- Proficient in complex electro-mechanical system design, particularly drive units.
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage rotor assembly line equipment engineering from initial concept through full-scale production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide in-depth design for manufacturing feedback to the Product Engineering team.
- Lead research and development activities for new manufacturing technologies.
- Identify and drive corrective actions for process quality and performance issues.
