The Software Development Engineer role at AWS focuses on designing, building, and operating services and agents that provision, secure, and maintain WorkSpaces for both humans and AI agents. The team is dedicated to evolving the On-Instance Software to support innovative features that enhance user experience and operational efficiency. Candidates will work closely with senior technical leaders and be responsible for end-to-end delivery of features, ensuring high availability and security. This position offers the opportunity to solve complex problems in operating systems and AI at a large scale.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience

• Design and deliver features and systems within On-Instance Software.
• Drive the agent unification work that allows Windows and Linux features to ship from a single codebase.
• Design and implement on-instance identity, security, and governance for shared desktops.
• Own the operation of low-latency, high-availability provisioning and agent services.
• Ensure services meet stringent SLAs across multiple production regions and OS variants.
• Drive engineering excellence through instrumentation, automated testing, and pipeline-based deployment.
• Raise the bar on customer self-service for operating-system breadth and reliable provisioning.
