Job description
We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at the Cummins location in Fletcher, NC. This role focuses on enhancing manufacturing processes through collaboration, effective communication, and health and safety leadership. The engineer will be responsible for translating complex designs into practical solutions and ensuring equipment procurement excellence. Requirements
- A college degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
- Intermediate level of relevant work experience is required.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills are necessary.
- Advanced CAD and documentation capability is essential.
- Expertise in tooling and equipment design is needed.
Responsibilities
- Strengthen cross-functional relationships and align teams around shared goals.
- Tailor messaging to ensure clarity and faster decision-making across teams.
- Model proactive safety behaviors and help build a safety culture.
- Translate complex design and equipment drawings into practical manufacturing solutions.
- Select the right equipment to meet specifications and reduce downtime.
- Use digital modeling and simulation to drive continuous improvement.
- Create clear, standardized procedures to ensure process consistency.
- Identify waste and implement improvements to enhance manufacturing performance.
- Work seamlessly with production, maintenance, quality, and design teams.
- Use production data and performance metrics to guide process optimization.
- Plan, prioritize, and execute engineering projects effectively.
- Introduce new processes and tools to gain operator buy-in.
- Guide technicians and operators through troubleshooting and process adjustments.
- Spot potential risks early and implement corrective actions.
- Drive efficiency and improve throughput using structured methodologies.
- Respond quickly to production needs and unexpected equipment issues.
