Job description

AMD is seeking a MTS Silicon Design Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and testing of electronic components for semiconductor manufacturing. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to address complex engineering challenges and drive significant technical projects. The engineer will utilize their expertise in ASIC development and electronic theory to oversee various stages of the design process. The position emphasizes innovation and problem-solving in high-performance computing and AI technologies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Three years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Experience in hardware verification, design flows, and methodologies used for chip verification.
  • Proficiency in ASIC design, CPU architecture, and validation.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Oversee definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
  • Lead the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop ASIC/layout design and address complex engineering issues.
  • Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance and exercise independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques.
