Job description

The Sr. Silicon Design Engineer at Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, is responsible for defining, designing, verifying, and creating documentation for ASIC development. This role involves determining architecture design, logic design, and system simulation, while contributing to multi-dimensional designs of complex integrated circuits. The engineer will evaluate the entire process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles and design techniques.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • One year of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role is required.
  • Experience in logic and circuit design is required.
  • Experience in RTL design and coding is required.
  • Experience in functional verification of microprocessors is required.
  • Familiarity with ASIC design tools, including synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, and static timing analysis, is required.
  • Knowledge of design flows and methodologies used for chip verification is required.
  • Experience in the physical design of deep submicron digital ASIC chips is required.
  • Proficiency in back-end (physical design) EDA tools is required.
  • Proficiency in front-end EDA tools is required.

Responsibilities

  • Define, design, verify, and create documentation for ASIC development.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
  • Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
  • Contribute to the development of multi-dimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
  • Analyze equipment to establish operation data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.
  • Review vendor capability to support development.
  • Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment.
