AMD is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) Silicon Design Engineer to contribute to the research, design, development, and testing of electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves leading ASIC development, determining architecture design, and evaluating process flows. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to address significant technical challenges and drive projects of importance. This position requires a strong background in electronic theory and engineering principles.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
- Four years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent and six years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- Experience in design verification, emulation, and computer architecture.
- Proficiency in hardware validation methodology and techniques, including emulation, assertions simulation, debug, and coverage.
- Familiarity with Palladium, Veloce, ZeBu, and HAPS.
- Knowledge of processor pipeline and memory hierarchy.
- Experience in assembly language programming and instruction set architecture.
- Scripting experience with Perl, Python, or Ruby.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
- Lead definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
- Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
- Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
- Lead the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits.
- Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop ASIC/layout design.
- Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance.
- Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
