AMD is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) Silicon Design Engineer to contribute to the research, design, development, and testing of electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves leading ASIC development and working with cross-functional teams to address complex design challenges. Candidates will utilize their expertise in electronic theory and engineering principles to drive projects of significant technical importance. This position offers multiple openings and does not require travel.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
- Four years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in the same fields and six years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
- Lead definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
- Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
- Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
- Lead the development of multidimensional designs for complex integrated circuits.
- Generate detailed frequency vs power models in collaboration with design, technology, and post-silicon teams.
- Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
- Provide feedback and direction to IP teams for power and timing optimization efforts.
